Celtic Knot and Kiwanis Club of Evanston-A Partnership for Giving

Kiwanis Club Purchases $1000 CK Gift Cards

Liz and Patrick Brennan, owners of the Celtic Knot Public House, 636 Church St., have good reason to smile in these difficult times for restaurant owners. The Kiwanis Club of Evanston which has held its weekly meetings at the Knot since 2013, recemtly surprised the couple by buying $1000.00 worth of gift cards to be given away at their various fund raising events in Evanston. The club, which celebrates its 100th birthday later this year, has donated close to $100,000 over the past three years to Evanston organizations working with youth and children, providing opportunities for learning, physical-well being and personal growth.

Jim Wolinski, president of the club, summed it up, "Liz and Patrick have become friends. We're glad to help them and hope that others will order take-out meals until this difficult situation has been resolved and we are back to our regular Tuesday meetings to continue our work."
