Chicago Repertory Ballet Presents Work Set to Beethoven on 4/25

Chicago Repertory Ballet presents an evening of new works, including piece set to Beethoven, at Studio5 on April 25.

Evanston, Ill. — Now in its 8th Season, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Chicago’s premiere contemporary ballet company, is pleased to present “Ballet Now,” an evening of new works that blend the virtuosity of classical movement with the innovations of 20th century modern dance, at Studio5 in Evanston on April 25 at 7:30 p.m.

The highlight of the program is a season premiere entitled “Immortable Beloved,” set to music by Beethoven, in honor of the 250th anniversary of his birth. The piece is choreographed by Mariana Oliveira, an acclaimed choreographer who has created new works for the New York City Ballet Choreographic Institute, the Nashville Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Academy and others.

· "(Re)Connect," a new work by Wade Schaaf, with a world premiere score by Matty Mattsson

· “All You Need Is…” by Taylor Mitchell, a comedy to the music of Offenbach and other French songs

· “Anderson Sweet,” a collection of light-hearted pieces set to the music of Leroy Anderson, choreographed by Wade Schaaf.

Tickets for the performance are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Student tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The performance is appropriate for all ages and advanced tickets are now on sale at http://studio5.dance.
