City Of Evanston: City Collector's Office To Return To Civic Center

Office will reopen on October 25; Temporary location at Robert Crown Center to close October 22

The Evanston City Collector’s Office will reopen to the public at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Avenue, on Monday, October 25. 

The City Collector’s Office will return to its previous location on the first floor of the building and will be open for in-person transactions Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All visitors should enter through the sliding doors on the west side of the Morton Civic Center adjacent to the parking lot. Visitors are subject to a temperature scan, and face coverings are required.

In 2020, the City Collector’s Office was temporarily relocated to the Robert Crown Community Center, 1801 Main St. That temporary office location will be closed on Friday, October 22 as operations are moved back to the Morton Civic Center. The last day for in-person Collector's Office transactions at the Robert Crown Community Center will be Thursday, October 21.

Although in-person Collector’s Office transactions will not be available on October 22, community members can continue to complete transactions online, or can drop off check payments at the blue collection box located on the west side of the Morton Civic Center.

The City's Building Permit Desk will continue to operate at the Robert Crown Community Center by appointment only. Online permit applications are also available. 

The City Collector’s Office is responsible for collecting payments related to City permits, fines, fees, licenses, taxes and other miscellaneous revenues.
