City Names New Recreation Center Manager
Ken Cherry has been promoted to oversee the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre.

The city of Evanston has promoted Kenneth “Ken” Cherry to the position of Recreation Center Manager for the City of Evanston.
Cherry, who has worked for the city since 1998, began in his new role managing the day-to-day operation of the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre on Monday.
“Out of a candidate pool of over 100 very qualified candidates from across the country, Mr. Cherry emerged as the right person for the position,” said Joe McRae, director of the city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services department. “ In addition to 18 years of practical experience with the Department, Cherry has a genuine passion for the community. I believe will do an excellent job building upon the foundation that the recently retired Betsy Jenkins developed at Fleetwood.”
