Letters of intent will be accepted through August 21.

The city of Evanston wants a mural painted on the exterior and interior walls of the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center and are currently accepting letters of intent from interested artists.
“The mural must be one large piece that celebrates the cultural identity of the neighborhood,” according to a city news release.
The Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, located at 1823 Church St., will be used by the City of Evanston’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department for programs focused on culture, education, health/wellness and outreach. The building features a café, meeting space, performance venue, recording studio and a fenced-in backyard.
