City Seeks Ways to Improve Look of Green Bay Road Viaduct

Possibilities were mentioned at most recent City Council meeting.

The viaduct crossing Ridge Avenue at Emerson Street and Green Bay Road may soon get a facelift, according to an Evanston Now report.

Possibilities mentioned during the most recent City Council meeting include a new painted vinyl mesh with the city’s logo and an array of photographs of local landmarks.

The shroud currently covering the viaduct has come loose from the clamps anchoring it to the bridge structure. It could cost the city $25,000 for a new screen on both sides and $100,000 to paint the entire thing.
