City Workers Used Less Sick Time in 2014

Evanston city workers used 20 percent less sick days last year than the year before, according to Evanston Now.

Wellness programs and incentives are credited for the decline. In 2014, the average amount of sick time for city employees was just 2.56 hours per month, just under four days a year.

The most drastic decrease in average sick time among departments came in utilities, which went from 4.33 hours per month in 2013 to 2.8 in 2014.
