Cocaine Tossed in Channel During Evanston Police Chase
A Zion man is accused of tossing 293 grams of the drug over a bridge while fleeing police.

EVANSTON, IL - A man from Zion fleeing police late Saturday night tossed nearly 300 grams of what's thought to be cocaine in the Skokie Northshore Channel when he was fleeing police on foot.
Anthony D. Henley, 44 first tried to evade police in his car after he was stopped for a traffic violation at Green Bay Road and McCormick Boulevard in Evanston at 11:20 p.m., cops say.
But the car stalled, and Henley fled on foot carrying what police described as "a white object inside a plastic bag."

He ran across the bridge over the Skokie Northshore Channel along Green Bay Road and threw the bag in the channel.
Soon after, Henley was caught and police found an additional 3.7 grams of suspected cocaine on his person in addition to $6,000.

Police also found the bag in the channel, which contained 293 grams of what is believed to be the drug.
Henley was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two traffic citations.
