French Pastry Shop Planned for Howard Street in Evanston

Artisanal French pastry shop hopes to lease former Evanston Police building, open second location, expand kitchen operations

EVANSTON, IL - The owner of Patisserie Coralie, the French bakery and coffee shop at 600 Davis St, has proposed opening a new location with an expanded kitchen at 633 Howard St., the site of a former police building. Assistant City Manager Marty Lyons says the lease proposal would meet the city's goal of full use of the building.

The bakery's owner, Pascal Berthoumieux, also owns two other French restaurants in downtown Evanston, Bistro Bordeaux and Creperie St. Germain. He hopes the new location would allow Patisserie Coralie to expand operations to allow for wholesale business, according to EvanstonNow.
