Community Yarn Art Project at Chicago & Dempster, Join us!
We are working to add some color to the Chicago-Dempster neighborhood, join us for a workshop! All ages, all levels welcome.

We are trying to add color to the neighborhood with the help of Chiaravalle School, the community & the merchants. We are creating colorful circles in assorted sizes that will be attached together and then wrapped around the trees in the neighborhood. The more we get the more trees we can cover. We will also be making chains/friendship bracelets that can wrap around smaller trees & parking meter bases. We will install the project prior to YEA fest- The week of May 11th. YEA will be in Raymond Park this year and this will be a great way to continue art in the neighborhood even if it’s in a small way.
Get yarn, learn how to create these colorful circles & donate at stumble & relish located at 1310 A Chicago Ave., stumbleandrelish@gmail.com (we are only using specialty heavy duty yarn-Bonnie Braid in hopes this project can last 1-3 months)
We need:
- Crafty folks of all ages to braid, knit, finger knit, crochet, make friendship bracelets & sew
- Donations: The Chicago Dempster Merchants are donating to this effort, all donations are welcome to purchase yarn and supplies to install this.
- Help Installing we will be installing most of the project the week of May 11th
