Cooling Centers Available in Evanston During Heat Advisory

The city of Evanston will open five spaces during the intense heat that is expected to canvass this area over the next few days.

EVANSTON, IL - The city of Evanston has issued a heat advisory, which will begin on Thursday and is expected to last through Saturday night.

Cooling centers are available for those needing relief during daytime hours, when temperatures could hit 100 degrees in Chicagoland.

- Chandler-Newberger Center, 1028 Central St. - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, 1655 Foster St. - Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
