In Curve of Departure at Northlight Theater, Skokie, Mike Nussbaum’s elderly character, Rudy, embodies wisdom, strength and dignity as the infirm patriarch of this unconventional family.
Although Suffering from moments of dementia, Rudy embraces life with clarity of what awaits him around the curve. In so doing, this cantankerous old man adds not only comic relief to the unspoken subject of dying but provides courage to the other characters as to what lies beyond the curve.
