District 65 - Paranoid Over Concealed Carry In Vehicles??

We should have expected it...District 65 administrators get hysterical and get parents hysterical. Illinois became the last state to pass a concealed carry law last summer..the law as written left no one happy...which just might mean that it was a good and fairly negotiated bill. The bill treats schools as one of twenty three prohibited zones where firearms aren't permitted. There is an exception for firearms that are left locked in a vehicle and for permit holders that are carrying while dropping off and picking up kids at school.

It seems that isn't enough for D65 administrators that are now agitating parents to try and get the law changed to extend the ban to the parking lots. There is more on the discussion in an article in The Daily Northwestern. Hopefully the legislature will have more sense than the whiners and will ignore them. Again we are talking about LEGAL licensed permit holders not hoodrats and thugs with illegal guns....we have laws against that if they were only properly enforced.
