EVANSTON, IL - A potential teacher's strike in the Evanston/Skokie School District 65 has been averted after the District 65 Educators’ Council and board of education have agreed on a three-year deal.
The union approved the deal with a vote of 579-101 and the measure was passed unanimously by the school board on Monday, according to Evanston Now.
Teachers in the district had been working without a contract since August and hinted at a strike in November if an agreement could not be reached.
