Dodge Ave. Bike Lane Project Starts Next Week
Summer project will add one lane of protected bike travel between Howard and Lake streets.

EVANSTON, IL - The city of Evanston will begin construction on a protected bike lane along Dodge Avenue from Howard Street to Lake Street next week.
The project, which includes the removal of existing pavement markings, restriping of the roadway to accommodate a protected bike lane using thermoplastic pavement markings, thermoplastic symbols and the installation of protective bollards, will begin on Monday, June 20, according to a city news release.
“The project will improve bicycle safety and traffic flow, establishing a connection to Evanston Township High School and Church Street and Davis Street bike lanes,” the release stated. “The project is part of the City’s continuous program to improve the roadway system throughout the community, and is funded by federal and local funds.”
