Dog Flu Reported at PetSmart PetsHotel in Evanston
Store officials ask pet parents to pick up their pets after a dog tested positive this week.

A dog at the PetSmart PetsHotel in Evanston tested positive for the canine flu this week, according to WGN.
A statement from the Evanston store at 2221 Oakton Ave. indicates officials there are contacting pet parents to pick up their pets if possible and are also contacting those who have had pets stay at the hotel recently.
“Once all pets have been safely removed from the hotel, we will begin a rigorous 72-hour disinfecting process,” the statement read. “In the meantime, pets remaining in our care will be monitored around the clock by a PetSmart associate. In partnership with Banfield Pet Hospital, these pets will also receive multiple visits every day from a Banfield veterinarian.”
