Double Clutch Brewery Gears Up for Annual Clutch-tober Fest

Evanston, IL – Double Clutch Brewery is preparing to host its 3rd annual Clutch-tober Fest on Saturday, September 21, 2024, a day-long celebration of Oktoberfest traditions right in the heart of Evanston. Running from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the event promises a day packed with live music, German eats, family-friendly activities, and, of course, plenty of craft beer.

The highlight of the festival is the brewery’s authentic German beer selection, paired with classic Oktoberfest dishes like pretzels, bratwursts, and other traditional fare. Visitors can also purchase collectible Double Clutch Brewery litre mugs, a popular item from past years’ events.

The entertainment lineup features something for all ages. Early in the day, kids and families can enjoy performances by Mary Macaroni from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by face painting and balloon animals from noon to 1:30 p.m.

As the day progresses, things kick into high gear with a polka performance by The Polkaholics at 2:30 p.m., bringing high-energy tunes that will have attendees dancing and celebrating the Bavarian way. Competitive types can participate in the traditional Feats of Strength at 4:15 p.m., which includes events like a pretzel-eating contest, stein-hoisting, and the German hammer game known as Hammerschlagen.

Rounding out the evening, Keith Stras & Polka Confetti will take the stage from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., providing authentic Bier Hall-style polka music to keep the party going.

In addition to the beer, food, and live entertainment, festival-goers are encouraged to come dressed in traditional Oktoberfest attire, with Lederhosen and Dirndls highly recommended to add to the festive atmosphere.
