Double Clutch Brewing Company to Host 4th Annual Clutchtober Fest Sept. 12

EVANSTON, Ill. — Double Clutch Brewing Company will bring Oktoberfest back to Evanston with its fourth annual Clutchtober Fest on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The free, all-day celebration will feature German beer, classic German fare, live music, games and Oktoberfest-inspired festivities beginning at 11 a.m.

This year’s Clutch-tober Fest comes just weeks before another milestone for Double Clutch Brewing Company, which will celebrate its fifth anniversary in October. Since opening in Evanston in 2021, the brewery and restaurant has made Clutch-tober Fest an annual tradition bringing together beer, food, music and plenty of friendly competition.

The festivities begin from 11 a.m. to noon with Mary Macaroni & The Impastas, offering a family-friendly start to the celebration with sing-along songs followed by balloon animals. The performance is recommended for children ages 1 to 8.

At 1 p.m., Keith Stras & The Polka Confetti will take the stage. Led by Polka Hall of Famer Keith Stras, the band will get guests on their feet with an afternoon of polka music.

At 3 p.m., the Feats of Strength will put guests to the test with a pretzel-eating contest, stein-hoisting competition and Hammerschlagen. Guests can join the competition or grab a beer and cheer on the contenders.

The celebration continues at 5 p.m. with Polkaholics, bringing a high-energy combination of rock ’n’ roll and polka to the Clutch-tober Fest stage.

Throughout the day, guests can enjoy German beer and classic German fare in Double Clutch’s Bier Hall. Collectible 1-liter Clutch-tober Fest steins will be available for $20, with $10 refills during the event.

Guests are encouraged to get into the Oktoberfest spirit, with lederhosen and dirndls welcome.
