Evanston Mayor selects founding member of Citizens' Greener Evanston to replace Jane Grover on the City Council.

EVANSTON, IL - Eleanor Revelle, a founding board member and president of Citizens’ Greener Evanston, has been selected as the next 7th Ward Ald. in Evanston.

“I have worked extensively with City staff and elected officials to make Evanston a more sustainable community,” said Revelle. “In the last several years, we have made good progress in advancing our environmental goals, but a sustainable community is also one whose economy is strong and whose residents are healthy and safe...As Alderman, I look forward to supporting these initiatives and encouraging still more.”

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl made the announcement Tuesday and the City Council is expected to confirm Revelle’s appointment at its Jan 25 meeting, according to a city memo.
