ETHS Employee Accused Of 'Inappropriate Contact With Students'
Police are investigating allegations against an employee of Evanston Township High School, its superintendent said Thursday.

EVANSTON, IL — Police are investigating allegations of "inappropriate contact with students" against an employee of Evanston Township High School, according to district officials.
School administrators became aware of the accusations on Tuesday and "immediately launched a thorough internal investigation and took appropriate measures to inform the Evanston Police Department," according to a statement Thursday from Superintendent Eric Witherspoon to the to the school community.
The district will determine what further action may be necessary according to its policy, according to the statement.

Witherspoon said ETHS officials are cooperating with the criminal investigation and asked anyone with any information about allegations against its staff to contact police at 847-866-5000.
Evanston police said the accused employee was not a teacher, coach or counselor.
