ETHS Extends Superintendent's Contract 3 Years
District 202 chief Eric Witherspoon will be in place through 2020.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston Township High School District 202 will keep its superintendent through 2020.
The board of education unanimously voted last week to extend the contract of Superintendent Eric Witherspoon, according to the Evanston Review.
The board praised his work as chief of ETHS, a post he’s held since 2006.
"I'm impressed you're able to keep all 3,322 students in your heart at the same time," said board president Pat Savage-Williams. "I don't know how you do that, but I'm just so glad you do."

Witherspoon currently makes $263,000 a year, an amount that includes salary and pension contributions.
He was thrilled to hear of the unanimous approval of the three-year extension, which runs his contract through June of 2020.
"I love our students. I love the adults in the ETHS family I get to work with. I'm thankful all the time to be able to work with this board and I'm so thankful to be a part of this community," he said.
Witherspoon's last extension - also approved unanimously in 2013 - was set to expire in 2017.
