ETHS Plans to Form Committee to Address Renaming Athletic Facilities
Interested groups could soon have opportunity to fill out application to request renaming an athletic facility at ETHS.

EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston Township High School athletic department is in the process of creating a process for renaming its athletic facilities.
A “naming rights committee” will be formed to draft procedures and guidelines for groups and individuals interested in naming a facility after someone, ETHS Athletic Director Chris Livatino said.
“The process is going slower than anticipated, but we hope to have the process in place (soon),” said Livatino, responding to a Patch inquiry regarding the status of renaming the school’s baseball field.

Livatino said he hopes the procedure will be publicized soon and that anyone interested in having a facility named after a particular individual will be able to submit a formal application to the superintendent and District 202 school board in the early months of 2017.
Once a facility is named after someone, it’s likely that the procedure will include a five-year buffer before another facility is renamed.
