Condo Association Training Set for April 17

Join representatives from Lakeside Community Development Corporation (Lakeside CDC) on Tuesday, April 17, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM at the Levy Senior Center, Linden Room, 300 Dodge Ave in Evanston for a workshop on condominium training and assistance. Admission to this event is $25 per person. Parking is free. Please RSVP online at www.lakesidecdc.org or call 773/381-5253.

In our 4 C's: The Basics, we discuss how to improve your association by focusing on Community, Communications, Consistency, and Collections. In other words - the 4 Cs! Our workshop is intended for all, but is especially useful for prospective buyers, new unit owners, and people who are not familiar with how a condo association operates.

A best practices workshop for unit owners and board members seeking to improve their community. At this workshop, participants will learn about:

  • Community association governing documents and what they are used for
  • Basics of board operations
  • Establishing a sense of community
  • Fair housing
  • Collections, budgeting, and reserves
  • Working with a property manager
  • And much more!

Each participant will receive a comprehensive training manual, which includes the Illinois Condominium Property Act, a list of resource organizations for community associations, and a set of standard documents and forms needed by self-managed community associations. This workshop will improve understanding of how to be a better director and have a stronger association. It will help save associations time, money and frustration.

Presented by Lakeside Community Development Corporation and the City of Evanston. Lakeside CDC is a HUD-approved counseling agency formed to preserve and create affordable housing opportunities in the Chicago area through education, advocacy and real estate development.
