"Julius Caesar"

In its fourth summer in Evanston, Muse of Fire Theatre Company will once again bring free Shakespeare to the North Shore.  The company has been playing each August to spellbound audiences including both newcomers to Shakespeare and longtime fans.  The outdoor setting, low-tech approach and outstanding acting have made Shakespeare’s plays accessible to all, and that is precisely the company’s aim -- to provide its audiences with a thrilling and unintimidating experience much like Shakespeare’s original performances (and nothing like a stuffy English class).

This August and September, Muse of Fire will cap its 2012 season -- a season of plays about tyrants and rebels -- with a modern-dress production of Julius Caesar, Shakespeare’s timely examination of the corrupting influence of political power.  Julius Caesar will play in Ingraham Park, behind the Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave., in Evanston, at 3:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday from August 4 through September 9, 2012.  **There will be no performances August 25 or 26.**
