The written works of 25 student authors will come alive on March 22, 23 and 24 when Evanston Township High School presents “Writers’ Showcase ’12” in the school’s Little Theater. An annual favorite at ETHS, Writers’ Showcase spotlights the writers, whose works were chosen for production by the Writers’ Showcase board, and a cast of 15 student actors, who bring the stories and poems to life on stage.
Every fall the Writers’ Showcase board (24 members this year) winnows the large collection of student submissions to create the “script” for the spring production. The board then holds auditions to choose the cast of actors that will interpret the works. Rehearsals begin in the winter. ETHS English teacher Lisa Oberman oversees the entire project.
General-admission tickets at $4 are available at the door. Curtain is at 4pm on March 22, 4pm and 8pm on March 23, and 8pm on March 24.
