Can you tell the story of a city in 150 buildings and places? Design Evanston has done so to celebrate Evanston’s 2013 sesquicentennial. Join the authors of the just-published Evanston: 150 Years, 150 Places, a selection of 150 houses, public, institutional, and religious buildings from 1870 through 2012, to hear the story of what Daniel Burnham, FAIA, called “the most beautiful suburb in the world.”
The book committee gathered nominations for their building entries from professionals and lay people throughout Evanston. They worked for nearly two years to catalog selections, gather photographs, research
structures, write text, and design the book which will be for sale and signing by the authors at this event.
