Evanston Citizen Police Review Board Delayed
Human Services Committee decides to give more time to public meetings to form new process to review police complaints.

EVANSTON, IL — The formation of a new citizens police complaint review board in Evanston should be delayed at least two more months to further develop suggestions and expand community participation in upcoming public meetings, according to EvanstonNow.
The Human Services Committee made the decision at a meeting Monday where several members of the public criticized outgoing Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl for her defense of Evanston police traffic stops and searches. She will leave office before the mayor-appointed board will be formed, the postponement assures.
Evidence demonstrating blacks in Evanston were about five times more likely to be cited for marijuana was also to be presented at the meeting.
