Evanston Continues Search for Holiday Tree
City reaches out to nearby communities for help in finding the right tree this year.

EVANSTON, IL - The city of Evanston couldn’t find a suitable tree to use as its centerpiece during the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony at first glance, so they have reached out to nearby communities for some help.
A city bulletin indicates they are branching out to the communities within a five-mile radius - Chicago, Kenilworth, Lincolnwood, Skokie, Wilmette and WInnetka - to find a suitable fir or spruce tree.
Criteria used to select the tree includes a minimum height of 20 feet, be in superior shape and be at least a clear distance away from power lines.
