Evanston Cop Honored by Northwestern

Commander Melvin Collier received the Public Executive Leadership award this month.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston Police commander Melvin Collier received the Public Executive Leadership award from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety during the center’s School of Police Staff and Command’s 387th graduation ceremony earlier this month.

By successfully completing the Center’s entire sequence of management programs (Supervision of Police Personnel, School of Police Staff and Command, and Executive Management Program), Commander Collier, who was nominated by Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington, has demonstrated a commitment to delivering the best, most professional service to his community, according to a city news release.
