Evanston To Face Simeon in 2016 "City-Suburban Showdown"
Nationally recognized game will feature Wildkits against an inner city powerhouse.

The Evanston Township High School boys basketball team has been selected to play in the nationally recognized McDonald’s “City-Suburban Showdown,” set for February 20, 2016 at Lyons Township High School, school athletic director Chris Livatino confirmed Monday. It’s the first time the team has been selected to play in the game in 17 years.
“Evanston is very excited to be a part of this great event next year and looks forward to the opportunity to compete with a strong program with such a storied tradition like Simeon,” Livatino said.
The Wildkits will play in the second game that night beginning at 8 p.m. against Chicago-Simeon Career Academy. ETHS compiled a 20-9 record last year to go with a Central Suburban South championship. The team was led by five sophomores last season including Nojel Eastern, a nationally ranked player.
