Evanston Fire Department Promotes Courtney Edwards To Division Chief
Fire Chief Paul Polep said Edwards earned the promotion through leadership, professionalism and dedication.
EVANSTON, IL — The Evanston Fire Department announced that Courtney Edwards has been promoted to division chief, effective May 4.
The department said Edwards, who currently holds the rank of captain, has served the department with distinction and shown strong leadership and sound decision-making.
According to the department, the promotion reflects its continued investment in strong internal leadership and operational excellence. Officials also said Edwards has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving both members of the Evanston Fire Department and the Evanston community.

“This promotion reflects the strength of our organization and the quality of leadership we are fortunate to have within the Evanston Fire Department," said Fire Chief Paul Polep. "Division Chief Edwards has earned the respect of his peers through hard work, professionalism, and dedication to our mission. I am confident he will continue to move this department forward.”
A formal promotional ceremony honoring Edwards, along with additional promotions, will be scheduled at a later date.
