Evanston Firefighter to Retire

Ceremony planned to recognize David Arreguin's 35 years on the force planned for Tuesday.

Evanston Fire Department Shift Chief David Arreguin will retire after 35 years on the force next week.

The city will hold a retirement ceremony for Arreguin on his last day, Tuesday, November 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the Hicks Training Room at the Evanston Fire Department, 909 Lake St.

“Shift Chief Arreguin has been an integral and influential member of our Department’s command staff for the last decade,” said Fire Chief Greg Klaiber. “His knowledge and expertise will be missed. I want to thank Dave for all he has done for the Evanston Fire Department and the City of Evanston throughout his distinguished career.”

Arreguin’s first day with the department was April 21, 1980.
