Evanston Gets First New Hotel in 15 Years
The Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston opened recently on Chicago Avenue.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston has its first new hotel in 15 years.
Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston is now open at 1515 Chicago Ave. after construction on the new 114-room extended-stay hotel in downtown Evanston was completed just recently.
The rooms will include plush beds and 42-inch HDTVs, according to a news release. The Hyatt House has an outdoor commons area with a fire pit and room for BBQ. Indoor areas include a workout room, business center and guest laundry.

Developer Janko Group, LLC partnered with Hyatt House to bring the new 8-story hotel to Evanston.
“Our approach to hospitality development has always been to analyze the unique aspects of the site and fill an unmet need in the market,” said Gary Janko, founder and CEO of Janko Group. “In this case, we have a terrific central downtown location that will draw on this area’s strong business base and the Northwestern University community, not to mention Evanston’s appeal as a destination for leisure travelers.
