Evanston Gets More CDBG Funds Than Expected
Federal grants will be used to help streamline housing rehabilitation program.

The city of Evanston was granted more than $1.5 million in federal community development block grant funds and will use the money to implement changes to streamline its housing rehabilitation program, the Daily Northwestern reports.
The $1,604,746 received is 6 percent higher than the city’s estimate.
The CDBG is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and works to provide low- and moderate-income individuals, families and neighborhoods with decent housing.
