Evanston Cultural Center Opens Pro Recording Studio

Anyone can now sign up to use the new Delores A. Holmes Recording Studio at the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center.

EVANSTON, IL — A new recording studio is open to the public at the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, allowing students, residents and other members of the public to record professional quality audio at a small fraction of the usual price.

Named in honor of Evanston's 5th Ward Alderman Delores Holmes, the new studio is available for recording, mixing and mastering seven days a week.

The studio is staffed by three experienced audio engineers and lifelong Evanston residents, Brandon Stewart, Devin Patterson and Seth Watson and equipped with professional-quality audio software.

Eventually, the studio will offer more services, including songwriting, beat production and audio engineering, according to the City of Evanston.

The cost to use the recording studio is $25 an hour for Evanston students with ID, $35 for residents and $45 for nonresidents. For additional questions or to reserve studio time, contact Gibbs-Morrison at 847-448-8040.
