Registration is open for Evanston's WOW program, which offers community walks, fitness classes and wellness events.
EVANSTON, IL — Evanston is inviting community members to sign up for this year's We're Out Walking, or WOW, program, a 16-week wellness initiative open to people of all ages and fitness levels.
The program began in 2007 as a 12-week effort for women and has since expanded into a 16-week communitywide program. Participants can take part in fitness classes, wellness events and community walks hosted by local organizations.
The city also offers an optional wellness platform, Wellable, where participants can track steps, join challenges and receive giveaway prizes.
