Evanston Lawyer Named Among Top 100 Super Lawyers In IL

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston resident and attorney Matthew L. Williams was named to the top 100 "Super Lawyers" in Illinois.

Only about 5 percent of Illinois lawyers are added to the Super Lawyers list each year. The list serves as a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas.

The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.

Williams is a part of law firm Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., which he joined in 2003.He concentrates his practice of law in the areas of medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and premises liability.

In his time with the firm, he has recovered more than $550 million on behalf of his clients, including serving as lead counsel in two medical malpractice cases that resulted in jury verdicts of over $50 million.

He also represented a young girl who suffered a brain injury and severe physical injuries at birth, recovering $75.8 million for her. In 2025, he won a $20.5 million jury verdict on behalf of a little girl in remission from leukemia who died due to morphine toxicity from prescribed medications.

Williams is a member of many local and national bar associations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
