Evanston Man Avoids Prison for Sex With 14-Year Old Boy

Jonathan Labe will be on sex offender probation for 2 years after police found the boy at his home in 2014.

EVANSTON, IL - An Evanston man who pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse on charges he had sex with a 14-year-old boy will avoid prison, instead being sentenced to fines and 24 months of sex offender probation.

Jonathan Labe, 55, of the 900 block of Reba Place saw other charges including indecent solicitation of a child, patronizing a minor engaged in prostitution and endangering the life of a child dropped in return for a plea deal, the Evanston Review reports.

Prosecutors alleged that in 2014 Labe engaged in sex acts with the boy in exchange for providing the boy a place to stay. The two are said to have met on Craigslist, where the boy first claimed to be 18 years old.
