Evanston Man Wins Chicago Triathlon

An Evanston man won the Transamerica Chicago Triathlon last month.

Jeremy Rielley, a five-year veteran of the race, was “ecstatic” over his August 30 win, according to Evanston Now. Rielley teaches physical education at Dawes and Orrington elementary schools and coaches soccer at Evanston Township High School.

“I have achieved what I have put so much sweat and hard work into,” he said.

Rielley beat out 2,637 other athletes with a time of 2:00.57 on a course that included a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run, 51.5 kilometers total.

“I am so proud of all that Jeremy has accomplished. He is an incredible athlete and a terrific educator,” said Paul Goren, superintendent of Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
