Evanston May Help Pay for Job Training Program at Curt's Cafe

City could pay up to $42,000 for individual stipends for students.

Aldermen in Evanston will hear a resolution Monday requesting the city provide up to $42,000 through its economic development fund for a job training program offered by Curt’s Cafe.

If the proposed Resolution 43-R-15 is passed, the city will execute an economic development grant no greater than $42,000 to provide individual stipends for students successfully completing the job training program offered at both Curt’s Cafe locations - one at 2922 Central Street and another at 1813 Dempster Street.

The Economic Development Committee and staff recommend have recommended the resolution be adopted.
