"I am proud to have received the endorsement of the Chicago Federation of Labor,” said Miller. “The history of the CFL dates all the way back to the Haymarket Affair in 1886. It is an extraordinary organization that represents the men and women who fight everyday to ensure that working people in our communities are treated with dignity and respect.”

The CFL cited Miller's independent voice on the City Council, his efforts to devote more resources to stopping gun violence, improving police accountability, increasing transparency and to preserving and protecting Evanston's parks and facilities as reasons for its endorsement.
