Evanston Pavement Patching Begins Monday

Weather permitting, the citywide asphalt pavement project will be complete in three weeks.

EVANSTON, IL — Starting Monday, the City of Evanston will patch large areas of asphalt pavement across the city. The road work is expected to take three weeks to complete, weather permitting. The project will improve the condition of 26,000 square yards of pavement at 123 locations around the city.

First, Patching crews will remove the top two inches of asphalt pavement from large areas of distressed pavement with potholes and replace the removed pavement with a fresh, smooth asphalt surface. After completing each location, the street will be immediately ready for traffic.
