“In just the last few years, Howard Street has become home to some of Evanston’s most popular and successful establishments,” said 8th Ward Alderman Ann Rainey. “A coffee shop or another food-related business would be a wonderful addition to this already thriving business community.”
The property is adjacent to award-winning establishments Ward Eight and Peckish Pig, which was recently named a “Delicious Destination” by the Illinois Office of Tourism.

The City’s available 2,300-square-foot retail space is the former home of the Evanston Police Outpost, which is in the process of moving to a different location on Howard St. The City had previously negotiated with a coffee roaster seeking to move into a “bricks and mortar” location. Unfortunately, prior to execution of the lease, the prospective tenant decided to decline the opportunity to open a standalone coffee shop/roastery and focus solely on coffee roasting.
Parties interested in viewing the space or receiving more information should contact City of Evanston Economic Development Manager Johanna Nyden at jnyden@cityofevanston.org or 847-448-8100.
