Man Shot on Darrow Avenue in Evanston Monday

The victim's injury was not life-threatening and he did not provide a description of any suspects.

EVANSTON, IL — After police arrived to a call of shots fired shortly after 1:00 a.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Darrow Avenue, they were notified by Evanston hospital that a 24-year old Skokie man had just arrived there for treatment.

Officers proceeded to Evanston hospital where the victim told them he was sitting in a rental car in the when one or more people opened fire. The man was hit in the right wrist with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

Investigators found several bullet holes on both sides of the rental car and six spent shell casings (both 9 mm and .40 caliber.) in the 2100 block of Darrow, and the victim was unable to provide a description, police said.

The Evanston Police Department asked anyone with information to contact them about the shooting, which likely occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 1:10 a.m.
