Evanston Woman Shot While Riding In Car On Howard Street: Cops
The 28-year-old passenger suffered gunshot wounds to her arm and chest after someone in another car opened fire, police said.

EVANSTON, IL — A 28-year-old Evanston woman was shot twice while riding as a passenger in a vehicle on Howard Street Monday, police said.
Another car pulled up alongside the car where she was a passenger around 12:45 p.m. and opened fire, striking her in the arm and chest, investigators believe.
The woman was driven to Evanston Hospital, where she remained in stable condition Monday evening, according to a release. She was expected to recover from her injuries.

There were no suspects in custody, and no description of the vehicle that the one or more shooters were riding in was available from police.

The shooting was the second reported in Evanston in the past month and the third so far this year.
Last month, two teens were shot while sitting in a car parked in an alley between Custer and Sherman avenues, north of Mulford Street. No charges have been filed in connection with that shooting.
