Tellin' Tales Theatre Presents Young Adult Writers Readers Theater Virtually July 23-31
Jack Gehringer and Sarah Schechtman-Thale of Evanston are two of the eight young adults with and without disabilities exploring the theme of “connecting the dots” through personal stories, Virtually July 23-31. Tellin' Tales Theatre presents a Young Adult Writers Readers Theater production.
The other cast members include Alexis La'Shay Smith, Sophia Leonard, DeVante Smith-Lee, Eli S. Walsh and London Cason from Chicago and Olivia Rasa from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
Each writer examines a time when they were able to look backwards and connect the dots to rewrite their narrative. The result is a beautiful message of independence and the power of dealing with the world on your own terms.

About Tellin’ Tales Theatre:
Tellin’ Tales Theatre - now in its 25th year - exists to create a bridge between children and adults with disabilities and those without disabilities through the nurturing and innovative performances of people’s personal stories. This is achieved through mentoring and collaboration. A key goal is to bring together diverse populations all the while helping them to recognize commonalities and build a strong sense of community in Chicago.
What makes Tellin’ Tales Theatre different from other organizations is not only its mission and methodology, but the remarkable balance of volunteers and mentors – with and without disabilities – dedicated to giving children and adults a forum for writing and performing transformative works.
