Evanston's 6th Boosterpalooza Rooftop Bash Benefits ETHS Students

The annual event with raffles, food, drink and live music from local bands is scheduled for Saturday evening at the Sherman Parking Plaza.

EVANSTON, IL — Live music and local food and drink will be on hand for Evanston's largest rooftop party of the year this weekend, with the sixth edition of the annual Boosterpalooza fundraiser for Evanston Township High School set for Saturday evening from 6 to 10 p.m. on the rooftop of the Sherman Plaza parking garage at 821 Davis St.

The event began when a group of moms decided to consolidate all of the club's smaller fundraiser into one annual celebration around the start of each school year, according to a release from the club.

"The organizers wanted to mimic the popular Lollapalooza that many of their teenagers were attending, but securing an outdoor location where alcohol could be served was a challenge," according to the club. "Thanks to some out-of-the-box thinking and support from the City Council, the top floor of the Sherman Plaza Garage was the perfect spot."

Local bands will be performing live all night, with the school's marching band due to take the stage at 7 p.m., according to the club. Other acts include country folk from Steve Silver, indie pop from Eve's Twin Lover and funk, soul and R&B from Suite Mollie.

The ETHS Booster Club is an independent nonprofit organization that supports and promotes all extracurricular activities at the high school, including fine arts, sports and after-school club.
