Monday, May 18, 7 pm

1st Floor Community Meeting Room, Main Library

Come meet author Richard Cahan as he discusses his latest book Eye to Eye: Photographs by Vivian Maier. A painfully private woman who lived and worked in Evanston and the North Shore, Maier has become a worldwide phenomenon since her death in 2009 when her powerful photographs were discovered in a storage locker and published online. In Eye to Eye, Cahan offers readers a chance to follow Maier as she travels throughout America and to France, Italy, Malaysia, Yemen and Puerto Rico. Featuring 96 stunning portraits published for the first time, the book captures the electrifying “eye-to-eye” connections Maier made with the strangers on her journeys. Copies of Eye to Eye will be available for purchase courtesy of Bookends & Beginnings. Please register online or by calling 847-448-8620 to guarantee your seat.
