FAIRY TALE TRAIL -- 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Magical Halloween Adventures Await All Children

Each fall since 1990, The Woman’s Club of Evanston creates Fairy Tale Trail to provide a safe, non-frightening, fun Halloween experience for . This October marks the 25th annual fun-filled Halloween with well-known characters and some new surprises along the Fairy Tale Trail.

Mermaids, wizards, safari guides and princesses will welcome the children to the WCE clubhouse which will be transformed into a maze of eight rooms – each showcasing a different children’s story or theme. Each fully accessible, fantasy-filled room will feature multi-sensory activities and costumed volunteers who will engage and enchant children with and without special needs.

Schools with programs for physically, cognitively, or economically challenged students who may not otherwise experience Halloween due to physical or financial limitations, will attend free of charge for a special weekday field trip. A nominal admission fee charged to the general public during weekend hours to fund all expenses to run and maintain the Trail, including bus scholarships. The Trail expects to host approximately 400 school children and more than 1,000 additional visitors.

The VIP Character Meet & Greet Experience will take place on Saturday, October 31 from 8:30 – 10:30 am and will allow your child to mix and mingle as a VIP with the fantastic residents of Fairy Tale Trail. You will have exclusive access to our enchanting Cinderella, heroic Captain America, and the ever-cuddly Winnie the Pooh! Food, fun, activities and surprises will make this a memorable experience for the whole family. Please register for this special event ahead of time at http://fairytaletrail.wcofe.org. The cost is $15 per child and $10 per adult. Children under 1 year are free.

Fairy Tale Trail will also be open to the public on Friday, October 30, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, October 31, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The cost per person (adult or child) is $5 and tickets can be purchased at the door. Attendees can also buy light snacks and refreshments at the Trail’s Pumpkin Patch Café. Children are encouraged to join in the fun by coming in costume.

The Woman’s Club of Evanston is located at 1702 Chicago Avenue in Evanston. Metered street, lot and garage parking are conveniently located within walking distance of the club.
