Family Choir Mini Session, Spring 2017
What is Family Choir? Family Choir is a casual choir in which parents and kids of all levels, as well as individuals from our community, can have fun discovering the joy of all types of music by singing together in one group. For years we in the ECC have been approached by many parents and other adults saying they “wished they could do this too.” We also regularly meet kids who are a little shy and nervous about joining the ECC, and who perhaps might give it a try if they have the comfort of singing with a parent. Thus the idea was born!

When and where does it meet? Family Choir will start with an 8-week trial Mini-Session this spring. It will run March 24th—May 19th. Rehearsals are Friday evenings, 6:30-7:45 at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., Rm. 107, Evanston, IL 60201, led by ECC Associate Director Bryan Johnson. If successful, we will run full Sessions of Family Choir starting this fall.
Who can join? Anyone! This is our most open, casual group. There is no age limit, and all ability levels are accepted. Literally anyone who can follow along can join in. People can register individually, but there are special rates for pairs of family members (e.g. a parent-child combo or couples), and for unlimited access for an entire family (see below).

What will we sing? A diverse set of songs that are adaptable to a mixed-level group will be chosen. Members will have the opportunity to perform a song together with the entire ECC in the May 21st Spring Concert if they wish!
How much does it cost? The regular cost for the 8-week Mini Session is as follows:
- Single person: $125
- Two people from one family: $210
- Unlimited Family Access*: $235
*Unlimited Family Access means that an unlimited number of members from a single nuclear family can participate! This also provides flexibility for various interested family members to drop in and try it out at any time. Regarding the specific fees, our long-standing policy of never turning anyone away for lack of ability to pay still applies. Need financial assistance? Simply let us know and we will accommodate you!
